Do you mind if I ask for a reference for a poster screener? I had my first set ever pulled, and I'm not particularly happy with the end result. In return for your sage knowledge I'd be happy to mail you one of the prints that was actually sort of registered!
My best suggestion is to look for someone local. Mostly so you don’t hafta pay crazy shipping costs and also so you can PRESS CHECK the job and ask questions as the print is being produced. Bring them some beer when you drop the job off and be amazed by how happy they are to see you. One time I was pushing my deadline to the limit and went in and helped my printer rack the prints as each color was printed. A little love goes a long way. Jush shayin… But hey if a printer does a bad job and you triple-checked to make sure the mistake wasn’t yours (always do that before you flip out on anyone) then tell them to reprint it. If they say “fuck you” you say “awesome” and take your business to someone who cares about the work they produce. I’ve had to do it. We all have. Life’s too short to get butt-hurt about shit like that. But as far as recommending which printers I use…that’d take some bribery. I’m very picky with who I refer my printers to. Because, in the past - one artist annoyed, pissed off and underpaid a printer I referred. That made me look very bad. Not saying you’d do that but 85% of the business awesomeness I have is from doing the research and finding things out myself. You then build a solid relationship and can decide who is worthy of your referral to that printer. Other than that spend less time asking & wondering and more time just going after it. You can ask me and 20 other artists and we’ll all tell you something different (if they even bother to reply).
I’m cracked out on caffeine. But hey send that print here!
