This is how I’ll be spending my weekend…
I took some time off from this piece because it was burning me out. I got stuck on the face and couldn’t move forward. With fresh eyes (no pun…ok maybe a small one) and input from my friends, I’m able to fix the problem I was stuck on and now I can move on. I personally hate drawing and erasing and drawing and erasing and drawing and erasing on my final art. So I printed the pencils out at 100% and decided to make my mistakes on that, instead of fucking up the original art. That’s just me and my neurosis. Do what works for you. I didn’t want to trace the photo reference so I’ve been pushing myself to get better at drawing likenesses. This is an ambitious piece for me so I’m taking my time to make sure it is close to what I imagined.
