Don't Hold Your Breath

BRIANEWING:

Hey guys check this out. Here’s a trailer to a documentary that I’m in. It features three illustrators - Andrew Bawidamann, Eric Fortune and Brian Ewing and explores what a career in illustration looks like from our very different perspectives. It also has interviews with Becky Cloonan (swoon!), Brom, Adam Hughes, Coop!, Wm. Stout, Doug Paszkiewicz, Tara McPherson, Jon Foster, and many more.

The film will make it’s official debut at Spectrum Fine Arts Live with a Q&A panel involving the filmmakers and the three artists. Check out the film’s facebook page to get all the updates.

NEW!!!!
Official Trailer for “MAKING IT”!!!

I collaborated with animator/paper pioneer CRANKBUNNY to create the world’s most awesomest Valentine’s Day scratch-off card.

The card reveals a secret message* underneath a heart within a skeletal chest cavity. It can be used for more than just a traditional Valentine’s card. Use the card to break up with someone. Tell them they’re fired. Or just to pay your rent late. Great for someone you love or hate any time of the year. Soften the blow or sweeten the deal with this unique and tasteful greeting card.

* Message Options:

  • Your Coffin Or Mine
  • I’ve Got A Heart On For You
  • Your Heart Belongs To Me
  • I Want To Touch Your Butt

I decided to expand on the monster series and add some movies that weren’t part of the canon of the better-known Universal Monsters. They are… but most people don’t remember this movie. Werewolf of London was the first American mainstream werewolf movie and was done six years before Lon Chaney Jr., slapped a bunch of hair all over his face and started barking at the moon in The Wolf Man. Jack Pierce did the make up for both movies (as well as a bunch more including Frankenstein and Bride Of…) so you know it was awesome! I really need to start doing pub quiz or something. All this useless knowledge…

Frida was a defiant and radical surreal folk artist who ended up influencing so many people way past her death in 1954. If Frida were born later, she would have a bootleg copy of the Smiths first album playing in the background as she went on her path to self-discovery with her self portraits and torrid marriage to Diego Rivera. The bones listed in the poster call out the injuries she sustained when she was 18. Kahlo was riding in a bus that collided with a trolley car. She suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident, including a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, eleven fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot, and a dislocated shoulder. Also, an iron handrail pierced her abdomen and her uterus, compromising her reproductive capacity. Thank you wikipedia!
